A nagura stone from the island of Tsushima in Japan. Tsushima lies between Kyushu and Korea, and the availability of this stone has become quite limited in recent years.

Nagura stones are primarily used to create a slurry on hard Japanese natural whetstones that can otherwise be difficult to use effectively. Simply add a little water to your main stone and rub the nagura against the surface until you achieve the desired consistency.
