Takobiki | Custom saya

Sakimaru takobiki, double bevel, with a 380 mm long blade
This stunning knife was forged, shaped, and heat-treated by master blacksmith Satoshi Nakagawa in Sakai, Japan. The blade was then given its grind and finish by Erik Mases at Shinogi Sliperi in Stockholm. Finally, the knife was fitted with a matching octagonal handle and saya, both handcrafted from red padouk, with an ebony spacer in the handle. The kanji on the saya and blade reads: Made by Nakagawa in Ao#1 core steel.

Satoshi Nakagawa is widely considered one of the finest blacksmiths in Sakai. After 16 years of forging at Shiraki Hamono, he became independent and now has full control over his designs and production techniques. His blades are forged using traditional Japanese methods and are of the absolute highest quality.
This Sakimaru Takobiki has a beautiful balance and a comfortable, weighted feel in hand. The edge is incredibly thin, offering extraordinary cutting performance — truly a knife for the discerning professional or collector.
