Iwasaki “carving files” – Japanese precision files developed for controlled material removal with a high-quality finish. Made in Japan and known for their unique tooth geometry that cuts chips rather than tearing the material, resulting in less clogging and a cleaner surface. Unlike traditional rasps, Iwasaki combines fast stock removal with excellent control.

Three of the models feature a flat working side for shaping surfaces and adjusting fits. The fourth model has cutting teeth on the narrow edge, making it ideal for opening slots and working in tight spaces.

We primarily offer these as tools for fitting Japanese knife handles.
They are especially well suited for:

– adjusting and enlarging the hole in wooden handles
– fine-tuning the fit between tang and handle
– controlled work in hard woods without cracking the material

Also works great for general shaping in wood, bamboo, plastic, and composite materials.

Supplied with a red protective rubber-like cover.
