Dao Vua has truly developed its knife production. What's new with this series is that the company has invested in Japanese sharpening wheels to thin out the blades and give each knife a smoother and thinner design. The previous knives have been highly appreciated, but a change that many have wanted to see is a thinner factory edge. Additionally, they have introduced a new steel that is hardened a bit more, 61 HRC. Dao Vua has really succeeded in taking a step up in its quality, and the new knife gets a very thin and fine edge.

Dao Vua is the leading knife brand from Vietnam. The knife has a thin blade and just the right weight and balance. All knives are forged entirely by hand, and throughout the entire manufacturing process, everything is done without significant mechanical involvement. The steel used is a monosteel with a high carbon content that is hardened to 61 HRC. The knife becomes incredibly sharp and is easy to sharpen.

The handles are also handmade, in various local wood types, with an emphasis on Padauk, ebony, and Amboyna.

In short, this is a worthwhile purchase of a handmade knife, even though Vietnam is not as well-known as Japan when it comes to forging.

NOTE: Carbon steel that is not stainless. Therefore, dry the knife after use to avoid rust.

Manufacturer's own words:
In 1288, during the second war against the Mongolian Empire (one of the most powerful of all time), Tran Hung Dao (4th in 10 military generals of all time, and this war made his career) retreated to Thai Binh province to organize arms against the Mongolian Empire! Winning the war to commemorate the merits of the blacksmith - King Tran Nhan Tong gives 5 Masters of Forging (5 heads of 5 forging groups) are 5 fathers of the forge profession. It's the only father of the forge in Vietnam until now. Over 730 years, the handicraft village named An Tiem still burns with firewood and knives for agricultural products throughout the country.

In 2016, with the creativity of young people combined with the experience of the best craftsmen in the oldest traditional village in Vietnam, Dao Vua was born to remember Tran Hung Dao general, King Tran Thai Tong, and the 5 Masters of Forging. We restore the oldest forging knife method through 22 secret standard steps.
