Shigeki Tanaka is the blacksmith who crafts these fantastic knives, which are as beautiful as they are sharp. The blade has an inner core of SG-2 powdered steel, providing an extremely sharp and durable edge with an impressive hardness of 62–63 HRC. Surrounding the core are 32 layers of steel that create a stunning pattern. The handle is made from beautiful desert ironwood, contoured to fit the hand. All knives are delivered in a wooden box.
This knife series was originally created as a collaboration between Shigeki, his uncle, and his father — the legendary blacksmith Yoshikazu Tanaka, who sadly passed away in 2012. Shigeki and his uncle continue to produce the knife as a tribute to his father, but production is extremely limited, and many years can pass between each delivery.
