Tall nakiri
Extra Tall Nakiri – 181 mm – Masanobu Okada
A robust, extra-tall nakiri forged by Okada, a highly regarded blacksmith from Takefu, Japan. With a lifetime at the forge, his knives are known for their functional performance and distinctive design.
The blade features a double bevel (ryoba) grind and a core of Shirogami #2 carbon steel, a pure steel that is easy to sharpen and capable of taking a very fine, keen edge. It is not stainless and must be wiped dry immediately after use to prevent corrosion. The blade has a black kurouchi finish, which is also not stainless.
The handle is octagonal, made from red sandalwood with a black pakkawood bolster.
