A course diamond flatter stone from Atoma. This is great lapping plate that keept your whetstones flat and free from steel residue. Its also a super fast stone for thinning knives or repairing chipped edges.

Your whetstones need to be kept flat. A concave stone will effect your sharpening angle greatly, making it more difficult to achieve your desired result. A lapping stone will keep the stone flat but it will also rinse the sharpening stone from steel residue, making sure you sharpening session gets full effect.
