Nao Yamamoto is a very skilled blacksmith from Takefu, Japan. He is the apprentice of world renowned Azai who sadly passed away in 2013. Since then, Yamamoto has continued Azais legacy in the same place he was once learned his skills. What characteristic of these knives is the thick raw material that Yamamoto uses. This gives each knife a robust feel and a great taper down the spine. The edges are very thin and the knife is very pleasant to use. The steel is multi layered iron with a core of Aogami Super carbon steel, heat treated to 63-64 HRC.
